Biomass and Biofuels Training for Land-Based Industries (January 16, 2008)

Heating oil is approaching 50p per litre and rising – energy security has never been so uncertain – business and local authorities are now seeking to use renewable energy

BIOMASS ENERGY SYSTEMS AND WOOD FUELS ARE NOW IN DEMAND
 

You will learn during the day:

·        The importance of biomass compared to other renewable fuels

·        How modern efficient, automatic biomass heating systems work and what they look like

·        Design and planning of biomass heating systems

·        Which type of heating system may suit particular needs

·        Economics of biomass heat and power production

·        How energy crops and woodland fuel can become cost effective fuels as chip, pellets or logs

·        How crop residues and some waste materials can be utilised as fuel

·        What grants are available
